Black altered Nike Air Max ‘97 shoe with pebbled synthetic leather and mesh upper; smooth black synthetic leather trim wave rows around top and sides of upper. Topstitch detail at edges of trim. Mesh tongue with black topstitched synthetic leather trim; mini pull tab with red inverted cross at top of tongue. Lace-up sneakers with black cord laces; bronze metal cut-out pentagram circle pendant charm on laces with “I Saw Satan - MSCHF - Lil Nas X '' signature embossed detail at outer circle of pentagram. Small embroidered white signature Nike Swoosh logo at sides of sneakers; gray crushed velvet trim panel at right side Nike logo. Rare MSCHF x Lil Nas X collaboration “Satan” sneakers released in March 2021 as a follow up to MSCHF’s “Jesus” holy water sneaker, released in 2019. The “Satan” sneaker had a limited release of 666 pairs and sold out within moments of the initial release. The sneakers and creators MSCHF and rapper Lil Nas X faced controversy for satanic motifs and “a single drop of human blood” inside the sole. Nike filed a lawsuit and got a restraining order against MSCHF, resulting in a temporary block of sale of the sneakers. MSCHF has put out a recall on the sneakers for the original price of $1018.00. The shoes are featured in the controversial music video for “MONTERO/Call Me By Your Name” by Lil Nas X.
